The Philippine Nurses Association of Indiana, Inc.(PNA-IN) was founded
by a group of Filipino nurses on September 15, 1999. This group was
led by Emma Tolentino, RN and was assisted by fifteen other Filipino
nurses, Linda Adame, Evelyn Cansino, Edna dela Cruz, Nenita Delacruz,
Chuchi Esteyledes, Rita Jumawan, Redempta Knotts, Gertrude McCray,
Lynn Mosher, Guilly Quintia, Susan Quintia, Lourdes Raley, Merly Shaw,
Linda Tolentino, and Brenda Wheeler as well as Cora Canlas Munoz
(PNA-Ohio), Denny Zakel
(PNA-Ohio) and Lolita Compas, PNAA past
president.

The PNA-IN became the 22nd chapter of the Philippine Nurses
Association of America, Inc. and first chapter to be formed in the new
millennium.  It published the first issue of the “Indiana’s Point of View”,
the official publication in May 2000.
 The mission of PNA-IN is to unify
Filipino nurses, promote professional growth among its members, and
provide health information and educational services to the community.
To this day, the PNA-IN continues to uphold its mission, grow
professionally and strive for excellence.

The Philippine Nurses Association of Indiana, Inc. (PNA-IN) based in
Indianapolis, IN is a non-profit tax exempt organization under 501[c](3) of
the Internal Revenue Code and is incorporated in the state of Indiana.
To unify Filipino nurses, promote professional growth, provide health
information and education and services to the community.
  • To promote activities to unify the Filipino-American Nurses in Indiana.
  • To create an environment that will enhance other professional
    organizations and agencies.
  • To encourage active participation in community activities.
  • To establish a support group that would provide assistance to Filipino-
    American nurses and facilitate professional and cultural adjustment in
    the United States of America.
  • To ensure available legal representation to nurses from the
    Philippines to maintain their professional standards and individuals
    integrity.
  • To support the goals and objectives of the Philippine Nurses
    Association of America, Inc. (PNAA).
