| PNA-IN Welcomes Nurse-Scholars From The Philippines |
PNA-IN is happy to announce the arrival of 13 Filipino nurses on May 15,
2006 in Indianapolis. They were recruited by Global Scholarship Alliance of
Ohio in partnership with Community Health Network and Anderson University.
They have a 4 ½ year contract to stay here, study MSN at Anderson
University and work evening shifts at Community Hospital North. Upon
completion of the program, the nurse-scholars are required to return to the
Philippines where they apply what they have learned during their GSA
scholarship for at least a two year period of service.
The nurse-scholars went through a stringent screening process and able to
meet criteria for admission to the GSA program. They were interviewed
face -to-face in Manila by representatives from GSA, CHN and Anderson
University.
Our Public Relations Committee with Mattie Upano and Lina deJesus,
Co-Chairs, has mobilized the officers and members to donate things for their
basic needs and necessities. Representatives from GSA, CHN, Anderson
University and PNA-IN will be meeting them at the airport. PNA-IN will host a
buffer dinner that day to be held at Bayview Apartments Clubhouse.
